The most complete road simulator for wheel and wheel hub fatigue tests of commercial vehicles and passenger cars is the biaxial wheel/hub testing machine, where an inner drum represents the road.

Variable vertical and lateral forces are applied to the complete wheel head in order to apply loads similar to road operation, such as those that occur during straight driving, bad road, cornering and highly dynamic cornering. The wheel is mounted on original vehicle wheel hubs to ensure correct stiffness conditions. In addition to the verification tests, special tests can also be carried out here, e.g. on wheel bearings and wheel bolts.
